There was a lot of talk on social media about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with singer Diljit Dosanjh, especially since Kangana Ranaut had earlier said she wanted to meet the Prime Minister. In a recent interview, Kangana was asked if she felt ashamed that PM Modi had met Diljit before her. She denied any such feelings.
Kangana replies
She was asked what she thought about the talk with PM Modi during a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra.
In answer, she said, “He was the main person.” During the protest by the farmers, he was at the front to stand up for them. He was in the lead, protecting those who were making a mess. What’s embarrassing about the fact that she tried and failed to meet the Prime Minister? It’s not my fault that the PM didn’t meet with me instead of Diljit. Everyone in the janta is equal to him (the PM).
Kangana made it clear that she wasn’t upset that she didn’t get to meet the Prime Minister. She told him, “I wasn’t let down.” I’ve never met him, in fact. I may have met him once and said “namaste,” but I never talked to him.
The star also said that PM Modi has met some of her friends, such as Manoj Muntashir and Anupam Kher.
During the talk, she was also told about PM Modi’s meeting on December 10 with many athletes, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and the Kapoor family as a whole.
Kangana told the Prime Minister how much she admired him and how she hoped to meet him one day. Kangana told her that she was a “big fan of the Prime Minister” and that she would love to talk to him, trade notes, and learn more about what he thinks about the arts one day.
Kangana, a BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, also said that she knows PM Modi is very busy and that she shouldn’t expect to meet with him in person.
When Diljit met PM Modi
Diljit Dosanjh, an actress and singer, said earlier this year that he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “What a great start to 2025!” A meeting I will never forget with PM @narendramodi Ji. Of course, we talked about music among other things!” On X, Dosanjh wrote something and shared some shots of his meeting with the prime minister.
I also went to X and shared a picture of my meeting with the actor and singer. Having a great time with Diljit Dosanjh! He has a lot of different skills and traditions. “We talked about music, culture, and other things,” he wrote.
PM Modi told Diljit that he was proud of what he had done and said, “When a boy from a small village in Hindustan shines on the global stage, it feels amazing.” Your family named you Diljit, and just like your name, you keep making people love you. Diljit replied, “We used to read that ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ (“My India is Great”), but after traveling around India, I understood why people say that.” PM Modi talked about India’s variety by saying, “India’s strength is its vastness.” We live in a lively society.”
Diljit sang a song about Guru Nanak too. PM Modi was seen paying close attention and hitting the table next to him like a dholak to Diljit’s beats.
