The world is experiencing a two-month big celebration known as the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, which hosts a vast spiritual gathering.
Apart from this magnificent event, India marks the one-year anniversary of the Ram Mandir today. On January 22, 2024, the idol of Ram Lalla was placed in his appropriate location during the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ritual. Several devotees and dignitaries attended the inauguration, which marked the conclusion of the legal and political dispute over the site.
The religious event took place on Kurma Dwadashi, during the Shukla Paksha of the Hindu calendar’s Paush month.
Ram Mandir’s anniversary is commemorated on January 11th.
However, this year’s Ram Mandir anniversary was celebrated on January 11 rather than January 22 due to the Hindu calendar’s alignment, as the Shukla Paksha fell on January 11.
According to the Hindu Almanack, the Pratishtha Mahotsav, or consecration event, demonstrates the sacredness of the Ram Mandir.
The celebrations lasted from January 11 to 13, 2025, and included a variety of rituals, prayers, and cultural events in which devotees and saints may commemorate Lord Ram.
The change in date underlines the necessity of adhering to auspicious tithis (dates) in the Hindu calendar, which might alter year after year.
Spiritual rituals commemorate the anniversary.
The day began with Agnihotra with mantras from Shukla Yajurveda at the Ram Mandir, followed by other spiritual events and cultural programs from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Ram Raksha Stotra and Hanuman Chalisa were then recited, followed by 6 lakh Shri Ram Mantras.
Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra shared a post on X, including photographs of Lord Ram’s Maha Abhishek. The message begins with the following: “On the occasion of Pratishtha Dwadashi, the Maha Abhishek of Prabhu was performed, followed by His Mangal Darshan.”
