Women Outnumber Men In Final Electoral Rolls

In a remarkable development, Manipur’s Chief election Officer (CEO) Pradeep Kumar Jha revealed on Monday that women now outnumber men on the state’s final election records. The latest voter list shows a total of 20,54,387 electors, including 10,61,979 women, 9,92,140 men, and 268 third-gender persons.

During the revision period, 29,468 additional electors were added, including 16,118 females, 13,348 males, and two third-gender candidates. Moreover, 9,741 electors were purged from the lists.

Imphal West has the most electors with 3,84,176, followed by Imphal East (3,26,668) and Thoubal (2,06,367). Churachandpur has the most electors among the hill districts (1,85,570), followed by Senapati (1,46,666). Jiribam and Kamjong have the lowest electorates at 31,513 and 35,813 people, respectively.

The CEO further stated that out of the 21,148 service electors, 20,131 are men and 1,017 are women.
