Imphal: Kangpokpi, Manipur, security personnel destroyed over 26 acres of illicit poppies before they were harvested.
According to a police report, a combined team of Manipur Police and central forces conducted a poppy elimination mission after gathering intelligence from various sources.
The drive was conducted in the Kangpokpi District’s Y Langkhong village, which is under the jurisdiction of Saikul Police Station.
About 26 acres of illegal poppy plantations were successfully removed by the crew. A case has been filed for further examination.
