Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has taken pride in successfully working the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regime that has been completed for five years now.

IMPHAL: The Inner Line Permit (ILP) regime in Manipur has been operational for five years, and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh is delighted with its accomplishment.

The Chief Minister praised the dedication and hard work of officers and officials who have played significant roles in the management and enforcement of the system on his social media page, X (formerly Twitter).

Certificates of Commendation were distributed to personnel of the Home Department, Imphal West Police, and Deputy Commissioner’s office at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today. Republic Day ceremonies have already presented such honors to officials from other districts.

“I am grateful for the contributions of all the officials who have played critical roles in the implementation, monitoring, and management of the ILP system,” stated CM Singh, emphasizing the significance of their work.

The ILP system, which regulates the entrance of foreigners into Manipur, has been a critical mechanism for the preservation of the state’s indigenous identity, culture, and resources. Introduced to protect the interests of the local populace, its successful implementation has been a significant milestone in the governance of Manipur.

The government’s concern for the continued efficacy of the ILP system is evident in the recognition of officials for their dedication. The state administration will continue to concentrate on the development of the framework in a manner that ensures the system will fulfill its intended purpose.
