Manipur’s Chief Minister Biren Singh Says 4.8 Hectares of Illegal Poppy Growing Were Eliminated

In the Senapati district of Manipur, 4.8 hectares of illicit poppy cultivation were destroyed on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, according to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

In an article published on X, Mr. Singh stated, “In a significant breakthrough in our war on drugs, Senapati Police, Forest department, and district administration has destroyed 4.8 hectares of illicit poppy cultivation at Kangjang Hills, Senapati.” Mr. Singh also expressed his gratitude to the teams for the exercise that took place on Tuesday.

“I am grateful for the teams’ commitment and endeavors.” The battle against narcotics is not solely a matter of law enforcement; it is a shared obligation. He urged all citizens to join us in the construction of a more prosperous, healthier, and drug-free Manipur.
