Assam: Record Tourist Inflow In Kaziranga National Park In Two Decades

Guwahati, Jan 3: Kaziranga National Park (KNP) has recorded its highest tourist inflow in the last two decades, with a total of 1,64,636 visitors across its four ranges since the park reopened in October 2024. This surge highlights the growing popularity of the park and the success of recent initiatives to boost tourism.

The park has generated Rs 43,226,225 in revenue from entry fees, reflecting its increasing appeal to tourists. Kaziranga remains open from October to May, with a seasonal break during the monsoon.

Tourist numbers have shown a marked rise throughout the season. In October 2024, the park hosted 30,058 visitors, up from 17,271 in the same month last year. November saw 53,367 tourists, compared to 35,006 in 2023, while December recorded 81,211 visitors, an increase from 65,139 in the previous year.
