Mizoram CM Lalduhoma Hosts Farewell for Departing Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati

Aizawl, Jan 2: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma hosted a farewell ceremony for outgoing Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at Lengpui Airport on Thursday, as the Governor prepares to assume his new position as the Governor of Odisha on January 3, 2025. Kambhampati served Mizoram for over three years, having been appointed as the 22nd Governor of the state in July 2021.

During the event, Kambhampati expressed deep gratitude for the warmth and hospitality extended to him throughout his tenure in Mizoram. He praised the state’s legislative environment and electoral processes, highlighting Mizoram’s potential for growth. He urged continued collective efforts for the state’s development and conveyed his emotional attachment to Mizoram, wishing it continued success in the future.

In his remarks, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma thanked Kambhampati for his contributions to the state’s progress and extended his best wishes for his new role. He also invited Kambhampati and his wife, Lady Governor Jayashree Kambhampati, to visit Mizoram in the future.

Kambhampati will be succeeded by Gen. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), who will be sworn in as Mizoram’s 23rd Governor on January 9, 2025.

The farewell ceremony was attended by Speaker Pu Lalbiakzama, Home Minister Pu K. Sapdanga, PWD Minister Pu Vanlalhlana, Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, DGP Pu Anil Shukla, and other dignitaries. The outgoing Governor and Lady Governor were presented with farewell gifts and well-wishes for their future endeavors.
