The discussion focused on strengthening tourism ties and creating new avenues for cultural and economic exchanges between Assam and Japan. The meeting is expected to pave the way for closer collaboration, benefiting both regions.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid floral tributes to the legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose today at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo.
During the occasion, CM Sarma remembered Netaji’s unmatched contributions to India’s freedom struggle and highlighted his legacy as a symbol of courage and patriotism.
The tribute at the embassy is part of a continued effort to honor Netaji’s memory and promote the ideals he stood for, both in India and abroad.
In 2021, the government declared January 23 as Parakram Diwas to celebrate Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s legacy. A landmark tribute followed with the unveiling of his statue at India Gate as part of the Kartavya Path redevelopment. PM Modi hailed it as a symbol of India’s resurgence in pride and culture.
