Unidentified miscreants attacked Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh’s official vehicle after the Bryan Adams concert in Polo. Fortunately, no one was injured, and an FIR has been lodged.

SHILLONG: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh’s official vehicle was attacked by unidentified assailants after the Bryan Adams concert at JN Stadium, Polo, at around 10:35 pm on Tuesday.

At the time of the incident, Lyngdoh was not in the vehicle. A stone was thrown, shattering the front door glass near Green Hills Restaurant in Polo. Notably, Lyngdoh typically sits in the front passenger seat, which was damaged during the attack.

The minister was traveling in another car behind the targeted vehicle. The people in the vehicle at the time included Lyngdoh’s husband, Fantin J Lakadong — an Executive Member (EM) of the KHADC — the driver, and other relatives. Fortunately, no one was harmed. The Health Minister has filed an FIR with the Laitumkhrah police regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, in a deeply tragic incident, mob violence in Tripura’s Laxmibil area of Bishalgarh claimed the life of 24-year-old Sajal Nama, a resident of Bankumari.

Sajal, accused of stealing a battery, succumbed to injuries inflicted during a brutal assault by locals, leaving behind a grieving family and raising serious concerns about the perils of vigilante justice.

The incident unfolded when Sajal was accused of battery theft. Acting on these accusations, a group of locals allegedly attacked him, delivering a severe beating before handing him over to the Bishalgarh police. After being briefly detained, Sajal was released.

Upon returning home, he reportedly told his wife about the extreme brutality he endured, particularly mentioning a severe head injury.
