The fourth edition of the WTA Mumbai Open, organised by the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), will be held at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) from February 1-9 2025. The WTA 125 tournament commences with qualifiers on February 1, followed by the main draw from February 3, and the finals on February 9.

Among the top contenders are Tatjana Maria (world No. 89), a Wimbledon 2022 semi-finalist and three-time WTA champion, and Rebecca Marino (world No. 98), a former world No. 38. Spain’s Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (world No 104), who has overcome career-threatening injuries, and defending champion Darja Semenistaja (world No 120) are also in contention.

British star Harriet Dart (world No 113) and 19-year-old Alexandra Eala, the highest-ranked Filipino player, add further intrigue. Petra Marcinko, Croatia’s former junior world No 1, and Jil Teichmann (world No 133), a multiple WTA title winner, will also compete. Kristina Mladenovic, a nine-time Grand Slam doubles champion and former world No. 10 in singles, will be seeking to regain form.

The tournament, which returned in 2024 after a six-year hiatus, has previously seen champions such as Aryna Sabalenka (2017) and Luksika Kumkhum (2018). Last year, Darja Semenistaja won the singles title, while Dalila Jakupović and Sabrina Santamaria claimed the doubles crown.
